Home to Dareville
The Dareville series is my oldest and largest series. These stories are some of my favorites and feature five short novels. There are also several shorts, which I have published in various anthologies.
The following are the main books. All are MF pairings except Acts of Daring (MM).
Brady Garriston isn’t ready to call it quits. Just because his girl ditched him and he hasn’t had a hit record in some time doesn’t mean he’s a has-been, right? He just needs to regroup, and what better way to do so than hide out in small town under a different name.
Ellie Shaw envies her cousin’s glamorous NYC life but can’t understand why she’d dump her rock star boyfriend. When Ellie meets new Dareville resident “Gary Stone” she’s struck by his likeness to Brady. Some disguises are easily discovered, though, and she thrills at the beautiful music they make together.
But will Brady’s deception bring on a sour note to their relationship? And what of the secret Ellie is keeping from Brady?
Cal Briscoe lives it up as a rock and roll sideman, though once in a while the temptation to settle down tugs at his brain. He wouldn’t mind a gal like Ellie Shaw, but she’s deep in love with his best friend, Brady. When Cal gets sick of their lovey-dovey he jumps at the chance to house-sit at their place in Dareville, VA.
Just one problem: Ellie forgot to mention she asked her best friend, Sue, to stay there as well. Forgot? Yeah, right!
Cal and Sue are the Odd Couple of Dareville, dancing on each other’s nerves as they try to make the best of the situation. But how long will it be before Sue and Cal kill each other…or wind up in bed?
Lauren McKenna watched her two closest friends find happily ever after, now it’s her turn. She won’t settle for just any man, either. She only has eyes for Jake – never mind that he’s old enough to be her father.
Seems like everybody in town wants to treat Jake Marbury with kid gloves. He’s not a youngster anymore, but he’s nowhere close to retirement. He loves his job, he misses his late wife, and he’s not interested in being matched up. Nope. Forget it.
How can Lauren convince the silver fox with the heart of gold that he can love again? Will Jake be able to find more to fill his life than work?
Clara has waited the appropriate length of time since Shannon’s death to tell her widow, Desi, that she loves her. Desi doesn’t feel ready to move on, and Clara is determined to help change her mind.
Desi lives for work, more so since the love of her life met an untimely death. She owes so much to Clara and her amazing winemaking skills for keeping Dare’s Destiny one of the top wineries in Virginia. When she suspects Clara wants to move on, she must decide if it’s worth parting with a share of her business to keep her.
Their shared love of wine brought them together, but is it enough for Clara to stay?
J.J. Marbury can’t keep a relationship for more than a few weeks. It’s not her, it’s not him…it’s Claire. J.J. never got over his first love, and when she comes home he’s determined to make the best of this second chance.
When Claire Walker realizes how much she’s given up in life and love, she decides to give up, period. Coming home to Dareville allows her the chance to start over, but first she has to face J.J. again. He thinks there’s room for him in her future, leaving her to figure out if an old flame still burns bright.
Disgusted by Hollywood hypocrisy, Parker Stigwood risks his film career in a most public way and retreats to his parents’ home in Dareville to contemplate his future.
Luke Hall is excited to direct his first play for the local arts center, more so when the handsome movie star volunteers to watch rehearsals and offer pointers. Luke would rather watch Parker, but there are interruptions to his viewing pleasure. When a well-meaning friend seeking benefits places doubts in Luke’s head about Parker’s intentions, Luke wonders if their relationship will bomb at the box office.
On and off-stage, Luke and Parker’s passion sizzles. But will Parker dare to act on his feelings for Luke and leave his star behind for good?
These are novellas written for special projects.
The Sweetest Dare
Sugar’s sweet, but Sidney Campbell brings the spice! Kit Cheever is more than eager to work with the gorgeous blonde at Tish’s Riches, the best chocolate shop in Virginia. While the long days at the job hardly exhaust them for long nights at play, Sidney hopes for more in their relationship than candy-coated orgasms.
Kit would oblige, but she likes her privacy. The people of Dareville don’t need to know she and Sidney are anything more than co-workers. Why be “out” when it’s so much hotter indoors?
Kit won’t even hold her hand in public, which upsets Sidney. She’s not asking Kit to march in a parade, just to acknowledge her feelings to the people she loves. What will it take to get Kit out of the closet and into Sidney’s heart?
